About Me

Courtesy of Sir David Attenborough, I’ve been obsessed with the natural wonders of the world since I was a kid. In specific, I’ve been ensnared in the fascinating world of carnivorous plants, and in an effort to bring the cloud forests to Massachusetts, they’ve defined my life in every way.

Building out environmental systems for plants grew into a passion in engineering. At the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, I decided to major in Electrical Engineering, with minors in Computer Science and Mathematics. In college, I’ve been involved with research relating to remote sensing, hyperspectral imaging, and broadening my interests into the realm of reef organisms.

My interests have boiled down to: can we reliably simulate an environment and quantify how “right” it is? Each and every organism is a sensor that responds to its environment in undetermined ways. Better understanding each response could finally close the loop for agriculture, aquaculture and more. Though I’m still learning, I hope to leverage my experience as an engineer, grower, and student to bring the natural world closer to us.
